Music theory innovation and research on four-colour problem will represent Finnish talent at EUCYS 2013
Last week, the final of Finnish Contest for Young Scientists was held at Heureka Science Centre. In the category for high school students and under 21-year-olds two projects rose above the others and will represent Finland at EUCYS 2013 in Prague.

A year ago, some of the brightest young minds in Europe gathered to Helsinki to present their science projects and compete in European Union Contest for Young Scientists. Today, European Journal for Young Scientists and Engineers with scientific articles based on some of these projects is available online.

The European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia in September. Kiira Saarela was chosen as the representative of Finland based on her success in a national science competition.

And the winners are…
At noon on Tuesday, the EUCYS contestants, and other guests gathered to prestigious Great Hall of the University of Helsinki. The grand prizes went to Ireland, Switzerland, and Lithuania. In the evening, it was time to party.
The future begins with science

On Saturday morning, the venue for 23rd European Union Contest for Young Scientists looked very different from what is was the night before. Most of the stands were now completed and the contestants were dressed neatly for the Opening Ceremony.
