At the forum, teachers interested in climate change education have the opportunity to share their practical experience and learn from each other. Chair for the forum is Director of the\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">LUMA<\/span>\u00a0Centre Finland, Professor, PhD\u00a0<strong>Maija Aksela<\/strong>. Other experts for the forum are PhD\u00a0<strong>Sakari Tolppanen<\/strong>\u00a0and PhD\u00a0<strong>Marianne Juntunen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"separator\">Adult education<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Climate.now \u2013 new climate change education material for higher education<\/strong><br \/>\nLaura Riuttanen, Finland<\/p>\n<p>Climate.now is a new online material about climate change. It is aimed at higher education, including all disciplines. Based on the material, teacher can give a 2-5\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">ECTS<\/span>\u00a0course in any university.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tnCLOuAt5W4\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Ecoanxiety and climate change \u2013 participatory working methods<\/strong><br \/>\nPanu Pihkala, Finland<\/p>\n<p>The role of psychological and spiritual matters in climate change education. How to do it? People surely know rationally how to make sustainable decisions, but it\u2019s not that easy. They are not simply doing them or changing their lifestyle though it\u2019s needed. Knowing is not enough \u2013 we cannot ignore our feelings and thoughs about climat change. It is scary, specially for the kids and youth. I believe that empathy is greatly needed. In Plantfulness we take first step to empathy and relaxation. Before making any other moves or decisions, it\u2019s the best thing to do first. It presents climate change separately from the perspective of each subject taught at school and also offers photo material, assignments and general information on climate change and climate education. A model of a coastal zone with different slopes is presented to the pupils. They develop the experiment analyzing the different effects of sea level rise due to the increase of temperature and the consequent melting of glaciers. In the second activity students explore the different increase in temperature in the earth\u2019s system without and with two levels of greenhouse effect.
