“I like mathematics because I think it’s the most beautiful science. I also like reasoning and using all my knowledge in problem solving,” says Nidia Obscura Acosta from Mexico. Other members in Applied Mathematics team come from: Brazil, Nigeria, Slovenia, and Romania.

“Cities represent our society’s past, present, and future, where we live our lives and find opportunities to better the world and ourselves,” says Tyler Keegan from the US. Other members in Urban Planning team come from: Brazil, China, Estonia, Romania, and Slovenia.

“I believe that businesses need to be on the forefront of the transition to sustainability,” says Leah Davidson from Canada. Other members in Climate & Climate Change team come from Thailand, Liberia, China, Brazil, and Slovenia.

Millennium Youth Camp coach and University of Helsinki’s Professor of Urban Geography Mari Vaattovaara has won the J.V. Snellman Award for outstanding efforts to disseminate scholarly knowledge.
