MyScience is OurScience

As we move into 2015, MyScience will also turn to a new page. In fact, we turn to a blank page that you can help us fill.

The goal of MyScience has always been to inspire readers about exciting things happening in the fields of science, technology and mathematics and this goal will remain the same also in 2015. However, we do believe that this goal can be achieved more affectively by getting you, the readers of MyScience more involved in the creation of this magazine. You all come from different corners of the world, with unique experiences from the science community. Maybe from your local newspaper you have read about a new technology innovation that will change the way we store energy, or possibly you have been digging up information on how green concrete will revolutionize the way we build buildings. Whatever it is that you have experienced or found, you may have found it hard to get the exciting news to the ears of those who may be interested. At MyScience we want to help you spread the word of both your own discoveries and the significant discoveries of others.

Starting this year, the goal of MyScience is to mainly publish articles written by our readers. We have already had many young scientists showing enthusiasm to submit articles to the magazine and we hope for this enthusiasm to spread to all of our MyScience readers. I am sure that you all have something with which you can contribute to making MyScience even better than it is today. Together we can make this into a magazine that provides something for all the youth interested in science, technology and mathematics (STEM).

This year MyScience will have two major themes, which are Sustainable Development and The Year of Light. We will also publish topics outside of these themes, so feel free to contribute with any text that is related to the STEM subjects.
If you wish to submit an article, please contact me, Sakari Tolppanen by email to inform me what you would want to write about. Together we can then discuss the content of the text and decide on the length of the writing. My email address is firstname.lastname(at) Helsinki.fi
