Millennium Youth Camp coach and University of Helsinki’s Professor of Urban Geography Mari Vaattovaara has won the J.V. Snellman Award for outstanding efforts to disseminate scholarly knowledge.

“MY Camp is once in a lifetime experience that changes your life in many ways,” says 2012 MY Camper Daša Robič. The names of the 60 Millennium Youth Campers for 2013 have now been published. The 26 girls and 34 boys come from 31 countries all over the world.

The names of the 200 youth, who were selected for the second round of the Millennium Youth Camp application process have now been published. Next, the 89 girls and 111 boys will start working on their theme assignments according to which the final decision on the 60 campers will be made.

The application period for Millennium Youth Camp 2013 has ended. Next summer the Camp will have more themes than ever before, and one of the new ones, Bioscience and Technology, attracted the most applicants.

“Applying to MY Camp was definitely one of the best things I’ve done in my life!” says 2012 MY Camper Jovana Vidovic. The closing date for 2013 Millennium Youth Camp application is 17 December, so you know what to do this weekend!

That is how Millennium Technology awarded Linus Torvalds encouraged his audience at Millennium Youth Forum on Monday. The man behind Linux discussed his life and work with over 150 high school students.

Application for the international Millennium Youth Camp starts today. This will be the fourth time that 16–19-year-olds interested in natural sciences, mathematics and technology will have the chance to get together with other like-minded young people to work on scientific projects dealing with global issues.
